Marist School celebrates Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Mass of the Holy Spirit

Marist School celebrated the start of the academic year 2019-2020 with a Holy Mass in June 28, 2019 which is the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Mass was held at 8 o’clock AM in the High School Covered Court.

The celebration of Light, a rite invoking the Holy Spirit, took place before the Mass and acknowledging the Spirit that brings us to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and helps us make Him known and loved. The mass was presided by Fr. Jimmy George Ma. Anastacio , CRSP. The Homily of Father Jimmy emphasized that God is the Good Shepherd who gathers his scattered flock. We see the image of a good shepherd caring for a sheep. We know we can have the same confidence in God’s care for us. We should then act like the good shepherd who protects us from harm and is aware of his responsibilities to and for others.

The blessing of the reconstructed Perimeter Wall near the Senior High School, along Champagnat avenue was done after the Holy Mass. Administrators, teachers, staff, engineers who took part in the project and some students were present during the ceremony. Together they prayed that God would continue to guide the vision of the school in improving its facilities. The personnel thanked God from their hearts for His wonderful plan and asked for help to protect and sustain all Marists, as we work for the glory of God.
