Marist Day Festivities Held

Marist Day was celebrated on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary last September 8, 2021. As host of 2021 Marist Alumni Homecoming, Batch ’96 invited Fr. John Paul Dean Menchavez of Batch ’98 who presided the Eucharistic Celebration. It was held in the Chapel of the Our Lady of the Magnificat attended by Marist Brothers of Marikina Community led by Br Manuel Uluan,FMS and Br Allan J.de Castro,FMS, Marist School President , Alumni Batch ’96, Marists School Marikina Parent Teacher Association Officers, some administrators and faculty . Other personnel, students, alumni and family members were enjoined to participate online.

The mass ended with the blessing of 3 statues of Mary: Mary Immaculate, Immaculate Heart of Mary and Our Lady of Fatima which were donated by the Marist School Marikina Parent Teacher Association headed by Mrs. Helen Uvas.

A Living Rosary was said after the mass, featuring different Marist alumni and faculty with songs provided by celebrity singers,  Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Aicelle Santos, Mark Bautista, and Lance Medina (Batch 2018)

The celebration was a meaningful reminder to all sectors and stakeholders of their identity as Marists as they strive to emulate Mary, the epitome of simplicity, humility, and modesty, and to honor Jesus Christ with her. Like St. Marcellin Champagnat, She is the Blessed Mother our ordinary resource and intercessor.
